Our Mission, Goals & Values

Our History

Homelessness is a huge problem in this world, and we know we can’t solve it alone. But with help from you, and by sharing our outreaches with the world, we hope to inspire OTHERS to help in any way possible.

What Drives Us

Our Mission

The Mary Vilencia Project Corporation was founded in 2013 by Rod Vilencia, with the purpose of assisting those who are affected by homelessness and poverty. By giving them access to these important personal care and nutritional items, we can alleviate the discomfort, hunger and difficulties that homeless individuals face, by providing short-term care packages that we assemble for them. We provide gently used clothing, jackets, blankets and comforters to our friends on Skid Row.

What We Do

Giving back

The Mary Vilencia Project Corporation is a 501(c)(3) homeless outreach organization. We provide short-term care items, clothing, care packages and meals to homeless individuals living in Southern California. We try to give anywhere between 500 and 1000 of these packages out 3-4 times a year.

Our care packages include nutritional items such as protein bars, dried fruit, peanut butter & crackers, fresh fruit, bottled water and other snack items to help provide much needed nutritional resources for those who are affected by homelessness.

The care packages we provide also include personal care items they need on the streets such as dental kits, shower kits, deodorant, hats, scarves and gloves, first-aid kits, sunscreen, lip balm, hand sanitizer, feminine care products, socks, lotion etc.

We also serve meals on the days we go out, which are an important part of completing this vital resource for the homeless individuals that we work with and serve. This is where we could really use the help of corporate sponsors. Providing up to 700 meals each time, we have mostly served Little Caesars Pizza and El Pollo Loco, and would love to expand that.

We also provide gently used clothing, jackets, comforters and blankets, and have even been able to provide some with crutches and walkers.
